A walk around the Banja Luka covered market
In this vlog I walk with some guests around the covered market (piazza) near the castle in Banja Luka.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is still an agriculturally based country, despite its history of heavy engineering that was present in the former Jugoslavija.
Most of the factories and production plants from those former times no longer operate since the conflicts of the late 1990’s destroyed them or simply made then redundant.
No visit to Banja Luka would be complete without sometime in the covered market.
Its reasonably big, extremely well organised and has so much variety of goods for sale.
I especially like to look at the food produce that all the small individual stall holders have. It seems to me that its all from individual small holdings rather than from mass produced co-operatives.
I might be wrong here.
