We take a short one and a half hour trip north, across the border into Croatia.
We are off to explore the small town of Daruvar in Slavonija.
Daruvar is very “multi-culti”, with an obvious Czech influence, seen on official buildings and publications.
The town is located on the foothills of Papuk mountain and along the Toplica river.
It is also the main political and cultural centre of the Czech national minority in Croatia and has a winemaking tradition reportedly dating back more than 2000 years.
An amazing place to explore and great food and hospitality too.
